Daybreak Poem by Morimyth Weaver

Daybreak

White picket fence behind you
Nevermind the dreams that
They tried to teach you to have.
Hold onto your own now.

Lift your head up
The footfalls belong
To you.
And find the world lies.
Open your eyes.
Take the scenery in.
Lay truth like bricks,
Make a stand.

Hold onto your own now.
Daybreak is coming soon.

Make life worth more than
Sleepless nights and days you sold
To a force that would not flinch if you disappeared.
So hold onto your own now.
Daybreak is coming soon.

Lift your head up
The footfalls belong
To you.
And find the world lies.
Open your eyes.
Take the scenery in.
Lay truth like bricks,
Make a stand.

Hold onto your own now.
Daybreak is coming soon.

Through lightning, fire, rain,
And those asleep to human pain.
I will fight tooth and nail for each day
So tomorrow maybe we can all say we
Held onto our own now.

Daybreak is coming soon.
