Day At The Beach Poem by Far Lapenna

Day At The Beach

The people look like discarded litter
Colourful pieces of trash scattered
Across dirt and sand, the excess content
Spilling out onto grey water and skies
Their stark red, neon greens and yellows
Staining the sand as they leave their filth
Behind to rot.
Like the mess left after a Spanish flea market
Or empty sweet wrappers left for dead
After a toddlers unsupervised sugar high
Whatever the case they don’t look
As good as they think they do
Far from it.

A keen observation translated into a finely crafted poetry. Hats off to the poet. A quote: Staining the sand as they leave their filth Behind to rot.
