Damascus Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Damascus

Damascus

Looking in history
-Damascus was city
-far above Washington
-with UN and Moscow.

Set aside right or wrong!

Stories were told there
-schools were expanded
-for sharing the knowledge.

Time evolved
-as it does.

Time is whore on roadside
-powerful in dress and makeup
-to people, passing by to cross
-she is thief of the hearts
-that is what she has not.

Everlast and always
-this cruel is winner!

She gives life
-soon after
-takes away…

Time!
Time!
Time!

You cruel forever
-in heights, depths.

Damascus, now-a-day
-is nothing but target
-to bombs and chemicals
-peace and hope for good life
-are killed to be dust and cloud.

By bastards of the time!

Give yourself little time
-ride the ants in the books
-engraved words, photos.

See also Mada'in…
-in where is now Iraq,
-and read her history…
-The Persians, till Islam.

Then become wise person
-leave behind bars, borders.

Down with all dividers
-knives, daggers and scissors
-flags with slogans as anthems
-faiths, shrines, their teachers
-race, colour and gender.

Down with all dividers!
Down with all dividers!
Down with all dividers!

They are cause of the deaths
-they kill, and they murder
-they turn the paradise into hell
-all claim righteousness
-send over some fighters
-and tanks, guns, bulldozers.
-There, fly the drones and bombers
-using their flags and their anthems
-led by Mosques, Churches and, Knesset.

Where the hell is UN?
Where the hell is UN?
Where the hell is UN?

What the hell is UN?
What the hell is UN?
What the hell is UN?

Is UN for justice? Injustice?
What the hell is Veto?
