Coversations With God Poem by William Naval jr

Coversations With God

Today i posed a question to the Lord
Asking him honestly what he made me for
I futher explained in my question posed
I am weak, I faulter, and am more imperfect than most
But it is not just my existence that i questioned so
Most humanity is this way, ive seen it. I know...

I asked how could we be made in God's image and likeness
When i see all of the horrors knowing mankind is behind this

God said he intended for man to be always with him
But that we were cast out of the garden because of our sin

God explained he created us to love him and be loved
But that because of sin we were lost from above

So i asked why make us with this thing called free will
Could he not make us with only obedience to feel.

God explained he made us to love and allowed us to decide
So that the love would be genuine and not a forced abide

He made us to be loved by him and to love him in return
He made us with free will so that we could know and learn

A tree gives shade to whatever lies below
But it does not love what is covers nor does it know

He explained he did not create man like he created the tree
He wanted us to be like him
As a companion ever free

I prodded further questioning why evil has come to be
And the lord explained he also made angels to be free

That evil was a choice man and angels alike had made
That those who truly love him would be loved and saved

He explained he created man to be good, fruitful and multiply
So that like him we could create good and live his love through our lives

He said to understand that there are those who have rebelled
And just as the good have multiplied the evil have as well

So over the ages the influence and traits gets passed down and mixes
This he explained is why so much evil still exists

He said he has already washed the world away to start anew
But that even then evil was passed on and again the evil grew

He spoke to me patiently, i imagine hoping i understood
That the evil was a result of our free will to be good

But he said not to worry because he is God and has a plan
In order to seperate his followers he made himself a man

You see evil made it too easy for creation to go its way
So God sent his son Jesus to save those who went astray

God knew evil was too easy to follow still
So Jesus was sent as our savior and the example of his will

Christ opened the gates of heaven as the ultimate invitation home

Now we can choose to not respond or to be Christ like and atone

God said many people havent opened their invitations yet
So he said 'I created you to remind them not to forget'.

So this is my call to you all
in response to his call to me

Put down the chains of this sinful world, because there is another where we are called to be free.
