Could She Only Poem by Sylvia Lukeman

Could She Only

Rating: 2.8

The time had come to tell him
he seemed to need to know.
yet words were so inadequate
with so much love to show.

Could she only stand beside him
reach out and touch his hand,
gently hold and embrace him
in her own promised land.

She hadn't been looking
when he had found her there;
however had she managed
without him around to care.

Now she needed to be near him
to be cradled in his arms,
to feel his warm and tender touches
to be sheltered from fear and harm.
