Consider Me Poem by Ruth Verch

Consider Me

I only want to hold you, to see me in your eyes but every time you speak of her that hope inside me dies. You tell me that you love her and I don't contest the fact it's true. I hate to say this, but she just don't love you. You say if you can't have her alone you shall remain. It pains me much to hear this because I've felt the same. I'd really like to love you and I see love for me when our eyes meet. It saddens me then to know with her I can't compete. She's beautiful, smart, and witty. All of which I feel I'm none. None the less, my heart I'd like to give but fear that you will shun. There's so much that I harbour within this heart of mine. I only wish that you could see. Her you love I know this, but please consider me.
