Connected By The Heart Poem by Farina Afrin Malik

Connected By The Heart

Memories that can’t be captured
Like the famous Harry Potter
and having two wonderful parents
To whom we are daughters
I think of how when we’re angry
we give our hair great tugs
But in your heart you know,
I’ll always be your favorite “bug”
Petty little quarrels
that turned the house upside down
To being my secret keeper
and taking away my frown
Unsynchronized singing
being lovely and irritating
Laughter once begun
never lessening or abating
Of the love we share
Of TV shows such as Doctor Who
Quite similar to the nicknames
we give, creative and new
Being the big and the little
and everything I need
Although you know as well as I
that none of your advice I heed
I don’t know what it would be like
if you were a different height
But what I believe is true
is to me, you are just… right.
Birthday wishes are always
so made to order
Instead to you big sis, I say
Hodor
