Complacency Poem by stephanie Ann Lowe

Complacency

I dont know how to say this
i've tried so many times before
maybe you just cant see it...
but i'll show it to you once more

i'll never give up on humanity..
even when we're gone without a trace.
we all will be, and quite soon...
if the war machine wont slow it's pace.

I look into the eyes of GAZA
and I cannot look away.
I look into the eyes of America
wondering why they cant see this way..

perhaps it is the Zionists
perhaps it's our nike shoes...
perhaps it's overpowering patriotism
all those bleeding red white and blues...

perhaps it is a plot?
the beginning of world war three?
perhaps it is the devil
I call him complacency.
