Clean Slate Poem by Rebecca Springsteen

Clean Slate

Rating: 5.0

I had to boycott.
I needed time.
I missed it.
I really did.
All my happiness,
frustration,
sadness,
everything.
Went into writing my poems.
It's so hard now, trying to find time to write them.
Even if I love doing it.
I want to tell people I know in real life that I do,
I write and write.
But, they'll see a glimpse of my life.
That I haven't shared with those around me,
just the whole other world I come to.
A world where I'm not so different when I write poems,
I'm not the girl who is a math wiz or chemistry know it all.
It's so nice.
I have a clean slate.
