Consider him one of the best,
Loved by fellow poets and all.
And now he has gone to his rest;
Revere him; he answered the call.
Even now he cheers those above,
Not stopping his verses so bright,
Comforting them with his love,
Eternally basking in light.

Someday all of us will be there,
Only time will tell how long.
Cleansed by the Blood of the Lamb,
Washed clean from every wrong.
Errors we made are erased,
Loosed by the great I Am;
Love shows that we all belong.

Clarence Socwell passed away on Thursday,19 December 2019.
He was a past president of the Utah State Poetry Society, and a beloved Utah poet. He organized numerous "Round Robin" poetry groups, where poets help each other with their poetry, and mentored many other poets in other ways.
I attended a poetry gathering at his house a couple of years ago and met many other outstanding Utah poets.
