Cicadas Serenade Me... Poem by pump princess

Cicadas Serenade Me...

Cicadas serenade me.
Sitting here
This cheap chair supporting my weight—
Weight….
Damn the scale
All that measures…
Damn all that expect.
“That much? ”
“Yes” I reply….
“Well, you are tall”
Comforting?
No, I wish….
Small interruptions in a forbidding sky
I see the stars
Suddenly distracted
There’s ash resting on my arm.
My breath blows it away
Too bad memories burn…
They leave scars
Scars that don’t just disappear….
Don’t just disappear into the darkness
Permanent
Permance….
It resonates…………
Like these very words….
Its just
Its just there-
Its just permanent….
