Call Me Paul Poem by Randy McClave

Call Me Paul

Saul persecuted Christians left and right
And then Jesus almighty took away his sight,
Saul walked alone blindly lost for 3 days
Then unto Jesus he gave the Lord praise.
And so that Saul's soul wouldn't be condemned to burn
His eyesight by Ananias of Damascus through Jesus did return,
Saul had finally heard when Jesus had called his name
Then from that day forward, Saul wouldn't be the same.
Saul's past was forgiven and also swept away
As is ours when we ask for forgiveness when we pray,
Our sins are in the fields that have already been plowed
But, we only grow what we have watered and allowed.
When I looked behind myself at what I have planted
I know that forgiveness to me, God has already granted,
I heard my name when the Lord Jesus did call
So, from this day forward, you too can call me Paul.
