California Poem by Vera Sidhwa

California

I Arrived in California

I arrived in California,
One fine California day.
The sunshine and warmth,
Was California's way.

I asked CA why it was so fine.
It said, I don't want to tell,
If you don't mind.
So CA and I just looked at each other.

Then a few days later,
CA showed me the way.
It was ocean ridden, the Pacific way.
This was California's richness.

It showed me freeways filled with cars,
It showed me an ocean filled with fish.
It showed me a landscape filled with palms.
It showed me people loving CA.
