Bright Cold Winter Morn Poem by Irene D..

Bright Cold Winter Morn

Rating: 5.0

The tea kettle whistles in silence's break
Kitchen smells strike my wake
Little smiles the treasure takes
On this bright cold winter morn.

Frozen cannot have warmth stole
From glowing red of the fire's coal
Within walls it breathes heart and soul
Safe from snow, freshly born.

And all the little insignificant smiles
Was the making of it's significance all the while
Throwing the cheer beyond miles
Brought and carried through winter's storm.

Family and friends mingle in harmony
All rages, pains, and bits of irony
Saved in the sweet formed melody
Of carols sung by voices warm.

And the snowdrops fell to kiss the earth
All the silver in winter's worth
Strives the bond forward from one's birth
On this bright cold winter morn.
