Braden Poem by Jay Bunny

Braden

Drunk from the attention,
I stumble away from you.
I’m not ready for a commitment,
and your not ready for me too.

Cursed with an outer shell
that impresses people what they see,
but my heart remains untouched,
and that’s the way I like to be.
I can’t help but to act out,
I live my life in shame.

Stay away from me,
or I’ll take you down in this game.
One day I will reach
a point of contempt,
a peaceful clear mind
and healthy environment.

Until then I’m going hard,
fist pumping all the way.
Loving the attention,
expect you I push away.

I’ll sober up on my own
my inner voice will guide me
My skin is already growing thick
My heart will always remain free.
