Bombs Falling (Who Pays The Price?) Poem by Eric Cockrell

Bombs Falling (Who Pays The Price?)

Rating: 1.3

the horror of
...bombs falling,

...bodies running,
........split apart,
...........torn to shreds,

warm pulsing blood
...screaming injustice
......from earth plowed

by patriotic greed.....

which side?
...doesnt matter!
.....both wrong,
.......both lies;

children's eyes,
...fixed, staring
......as if to point,

who pays the price?

This poem reminded me of the Nato campaign against Serbia. I was thinking then 'the dead ones are shelter, the living merely testify' was just a thought at the time.

Wow Eric, you've done it again, sent a shiver in and through my soul. Powerhouse writing here. The interior of your mind must be alive with words speaking out. As Woody Guthrie once said ' I leak language.', I believe you do, and it's grand!
