Black Umbrella

This black umbrella is more than big enough for the both of us
But you already have someone else to shelter you from the rain
I don't care how much it'll hurt me to stand here alone and wait
My love for you will always make me strong enough to take the pain

I never had the chance to really tell you how I feel in my heart
But all I know is that I'll always be respectful, caring and sincere
Especially to you, and that whenever you need somebody, anybody...
I'll make sure that I'm there by your side to hold you and say 'I'm here'

If only you knew how much I love you, you're everything that I need
I'd give anything for you to be safe and happy at the end of each day
But the truth is that you'll probably be much happier with him then me
So I guess if I really want to make you happy, giving you up is the only way

This black umbrella is more than big enough for the both of us
But you already have someone else to shelter you from the snow
I don't care how long it'll take me to find a way into your heart
I've suffered too much and it would've been for nothing if I let you go

Poem of the Day

poet John Clare

I love to see the old heath's withered brake
Mingle its crimpled leaves with furze and ling,
While the old heron from the lonely lake
Starts slow and flaps its melancholy wing,
