Black And Blue Poem by Barbara Vanier

Black And Blue

I strain to see through darkened glass
journey through to see the past
from what I see it's as empty as me
because of black and blue on me

Everyone looking out their window
when the sun shines it can never get through
because of black and blue on me
and because it's on you too

Come and set me free
or let me be
Come and rescue me
or let me be
Come and destroy me
or let me be
let me be

I crawl along on blood soaked knees
Straining to see what was of me
when I reach the window what do I see
Millions of windows staring back at me

Come and set me free
or let me be
Come and rescue me
or let me be
Come and destroy me
or let me be
let me be

I feel your hand upon my sill
the windows cracked sunlight revealed
hold it open much much faster
or in my room you'll find disaster

Come and set me free
or let me be
Come and rescue me
or let me be
Come and destroy me
or let me be
let me be
