Beauty Is Untrue Poem by Helena Alvarez

Beauty Is Untrue

Rating: 5.0

I stare at the mirror
Look at what I see
Searching for the beauty
Somewhere inside me

I search and look for why you say I am
From what I see and what you say
I just don’t understand

I cannot stand what I see
Its me
Still I cannot seem to love myself
As others do
I try and try
Its impossible I say
Would it be better if I just fade away?

That won’t help much Helena! Fading away may help just only for the time being. When you again look into your mind’s mirror the image will reappear be you like it or not. So don’t count on images you feel. Count on 'reals'; on what others tell. If some one tells you are beautiful you are! Your poem though sounds sad is very soft and vibrant. I give you 10/10.
