Beauty Poem by David Musoke

Beauty

Could it be found in the sunrise?
Is it found in compromise?
I was once told it could be found in promise
It has been sought by many and found by so few
The few who find it listen to the words of silence
They see worlds no mortal eye can ever comprehend
For those who continue to seek it heed my words
Close your eyes that you may see
Let not your senses guide your senses
For until you see without seeing
Feel without feeling
You will search in vain
This is the nature of beauty; it is for all to gain
If you all but dare to but to defy your senses
