Your smiles can't 
hide the trauma 
Stop creating 
alternate realities 
to remedy the pain 
Sins don't often 
stay in California 
Once you saw a glance 
of the american dream
You are in a race 
forever chasing the dream 
and it's going to drive 
you so far in the insane asylum 
where what you'll be hearing 
is nothing but silence
I like you and everything 
but you won't catch me around 
when you go to turn your eyes
I'm not going be around 
All good things are like stars 
they began to fade 
It is only in your heart that 
emotions are made 
Despite the circumstances,  
I've shown you the softness that comforts 
You can plan for perfect days 
but bad weathers what you're under
Nine times out of ten,  
you'll end up there again 
Someone with no substance 
has lust on the brain 
and it's not well to wish 
me unhappy, I will decline 
Faint is the heart 
that isn't as generous as mine 
such land appears so lovely 
but it'll never 
last beyond the promise 
of a life that is forever 
Disregard the things you've said
Trying to fill my head
With sweet nothing's
it don't come with pure intentions
let's not forget to mention

the impression somebody new
Can heal the wounds to make it better 
just doesn't seem to be so clever 
mother didn't raise no fool 
wishing all the less for you

You can want what you want
but i'm not up for offer 
Everyone you've made a move on

always rated cheaply 
And only a child will act out 
seems desperation isn't enough 
it's why you drove that route

possessive, insecure, very unstable 
want more salt to the wound?  
You've brought nothing to any table
