Batman Poem by David Hunter

Batman

You've always had a reason
for every mistake you made through the seasons.
All was said and done,
but by mistake, don't blame yourself.

I've accused you to be a liar,
even if you told the truth before the fire.
I guess I lost my trust
in the deep, dark forest of distrust.

I call upon the name of a stranger
who lurks in the shadows, yet, not in danger.
I am with a mask, to you, I'm a ranger,
but I am a knight of day and night.

I have no weaknesses, except for one,
my weakness is arrogance, it weighs a ton.
But you've opened my eyes, now, I see,
it was never about my mask, but my identity.

I give thanks to you for a good advice,
I'll fight for the good of many, that'll be nice.
Indeed, I have wings, but merely a cloth,
I just hide in the shadows with nothing at all.

Pure magic, you say? No, not magic,
just wits, patience, and practice that makes perfect.
You fly, touching clouds in the sky,
I can reassure you that money can't always buy.

You have supernatural powers,
I'm only human, of course, with high towers.
This tech is, indeed, high tech,
when in battle, I'll try not to break your neck.

I'm only human, but I am way more,
I chose this life of a knight when I opened the door.
The door to freedom, the door to honor,
the door to redeem, the door to hold great power.

Superman, I told you before and after,
I am the Dark Knight that Joker was after.
Lex Luthor, I'm not playing any games,
pretty soon, I'll have you cuffed in dangling chains.
