What Hides Behind Poem by David Hunter

What Hides Behind

What hides behind my smile is sadness,
I crave to get rid of my own madness.
I've had enough of us fighting,
But I will not stop writing.

What hides behind your laugh is sorrow,
I did not know that pain was to follow.
You've had enough of painful things,
Listen to the wind's melody as it sings.

What hides behind our love is tragic,
Life just happens like it's magic.
Our hearts were warm once,
Now they're cold from actions and stunts.

What hides behind us is a broken glass,
Nothing more than bad memories from the past.
For what now hides behind the clouds
Is the golden sun, the silver moon, and the crystal stars in a crowd.
