Automatic Guard Poem by Jay Bunny

Automatic guard
is up and it protects my heart
but when i try to bring it down
i end up lying on the ground again,
this time i’ll go right between his eyes
because i stared directly into his lies
strung along to my surprise
back here on the other side.

Suffocating my throat
with all this emotion to choke,
I’m feeling alive
but hurting inside.
Kicking bottles in my way
daydreaming of the other day.
Don’t look to far back
somersault down this path.

Be aware your emotions,
mine are wild like the ocean,
drinking poison and i like it
Straight or something to spike with
Can’t runaway
Cemented this way
My mind i unplug
I do some more drugs

Seduce my new victim
And pretend I’m the victim
Disrespecting myself
Holding onto my health
Heartless motivation
Takes me back to where i came from
Hide out for now
Hands muffle the sound
