Audience Of One Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Audience Of One

An audience of one.
Created to deceive.
And leave many left stunned.
Betrayed to use.
As fools to abuse.

While those fools abused,
Awaken too late.
To realize and discover,
Bait they were...
To instigate.
Division, conflict and hatred.
Between themselves.

Accusing those of different races,
Of destroying a quality of life...
Diversified in countless places.
And yet...
Only they not them or the others,
Had been directed to do it.
To please an audience of one.
Just for the fun of a destruction done!
Still to have it accepted to disbelieve,
These activities...
Are unknown to have them begin to start.
As proclaimed by the doer.
Professing to have a remedy to fix,
All that has been destroyed.
While sitting in a position.
Not attempting to prevent but watch all of it.
Hoping for top ratings and the attention,
This is anticipated to get.
