At Night - - - After Poem by Barry Van Allen

At Night - - - After

Rating: 3.0

There she goes again,
she just passed through my mind,
I can't see which way to go today,
... her love no longer mine.

Why can't I find her lips?
Why can't I hold her hand?
Why can't I hold her close to me,
and make her understand?

There is an instinct ,
that won't let me know she's gone,
for she is still there in my heart,
and when I listen to my songs.

She will not be there,
when I fall asleep at night,
now as I go from day to day,
she will no longer light my way.

Yes, I have lost her,
I have lost at love before,
but late at night, it seems,
that hurts a little more.

In the darkness there is found,
a voice that utters not a sound,
and tells the story,
that the mind won't comprehend.

I love the last part... In the darkness there is found a voice that utters not a sound and tells the story that the mind won't comprehend... Absolutely beautiful work Barry. I am in awe of your ability to make your poems flow so smoothly. Time and time again, I come back to them. They are steadfast and true...great work! Hugs, dee
