Asking Is Not Enough Poem by Jared Ashby

Asking Is Not Enough

Rating: 4.8

They say to get into his good grace,
it's only your past sins you must face,
But the word of man is just so fickle,
like wishing in a fountain with a nickel,

To save your soul, can one just ask?
Shouldn't there be some sort of task?
For one to prove his loyal devout,
more than ask I don't doubt,

If you are to come across that place,
With power over another in your face,
You have to chose between wrong and right,
Either letting go of power or holding on tight,

This is the test you must see,
you must give up this power to be free,
For in this life there is a trial in the court,
of character and heart for God to sort.
