As If Forever … 2907-2k16

Rating: 4.8

The winds roar ceaseless across this endless plain
Blowing the sands an dunes there then here again

Standing mute and silent on the deathly flat
Scattered rocks appear and hide along with that

Squalls and swirls tango in their deathly dance
Scatter strewn bones and shriek as they prance

Wrinkles winds blow and slithering vipers make
Trim for these mounds that forever endless bake

Flattened grasses trying to raise their head so hard
Unmoved, the thorny cactus, stands it eternal guard

Fleeting trumpets that it blows at passing days
Its bight red fruits stand proud in punishing rays

A 'tremble clinging tenuous to its each little strand
Occasional the gossamer so alien to this harsh land

Barren bare branches point to the blazing sky
Stunted shrubs that quiver in the sun bone dry

Slowly strutting Oryx proudly treads the scape
Proud at the pompous display on its nape

The eagle soaring high lets out its wild squee
Eyes trained far for the faintest move to see

Gliding with grace to coast these sterile plains
Impassive to shift and tumble of the ocher grains

Distant mirage whispers, lies to the tired nomad
There just in reach the plenty that's to be had

Strange the little lady birds that slowly flit, abound
Flutter their tiny wings without the slightest sound

Scorched yellow grays cast their fiendish spell
What lies behind the dunes, can one ever tell?

Harsh and haughty men that wander here, live
Want to wrench more than they're willing to give

Far across the vistas, is a speck of emerald green
Where life is abundant; flowers, fronds their sheen

Maybe we'll get there soon, before its time to go
Or maybe zip past it aimless just to wander lo

Here winds blow whistling with a madness seized
As if forever we had life, its bounties for us leased

To feel the wind, to see with the eyes of an eagle, admire the Oryx such a great joy which tells us a story, of the richness of our earth, beauty abundance and life that we think is forever. Your wonderfully penned poem gives us the wish to care for our world to protect the life on earth, thank you so much for sharing.

Descriptive and pictorial, transporting the reader but before he may get lost in the swirls of dust, there comes the lady bird and an oasis to the rescue....! ! ! ! ! ....impressive indeed, KUDOS!
