Angels Poem by Mandi June

Angels

Rating: 4.0

The dog and I were lying down,
When suddenly there was a sound.
Then voices came in blissful chorus
Angels stood in white before us.

Startled, then I start to cry.
I could not place the reason why
These beings would to me appear.
Had I not been faithful and sincere?

Then from the sky, the brightest one,
With eyes that glowed like noonday sun,
Came forth and wiped my tears away,
And this is what he had to say:

'Child, frail and shattered soul,
I know that life can take its toll,
But, trust me, you are well protected
Until the day you are selected.'

'Do not fear. You've done no wrong.
We only want to share our song.
Your heart is blessed with angel's touch,
And we love you so very much.'
