Angel Poem by Elia Michael

Angel

An angel made a liar out of me,
For years I thought this angel was benign,
But he disguised himself so cleverly,
I truly thought his character divine.
He stooped to whisper closely in my ear,
Deliberately hurtful wicked things.
I questioned whether I did really hear
Such words which wounded me with acid stings;
And he compounded evil deeds with more,
Pretending deep concern before his friend,
Denying all the things he'd said before,
He instantly did bring our friendship's end.
I do not know the reason why he lied;
I do not care, my trust in him has died.
