And Now Poem by Tressa Carliss

And Now

I planned your first birthday
I planned your first Christmas
I planned your first day of school
I planned your first prom
I planned the day you would graduate
And now those plans are in heaven.

Your dad was afraid of your first steps
He was afraid of your first boyfriend
He was afraid of you growing up
He was afraid of your first fight
He was afraid you would say 'Daddy I hate you'
He was afraid to see you off to college
And now those fears are in heaven.

We plan so much for the two of you
We feared so much for the two of you
And even though you were still in the wound
We loved the two of you so
No matter how much you kept mommy up at night
And now those feelings will live in our hearts.

For my unborn twins
I love you with all of my heart. May God watch over you
Love Mom.
