My Dear Children Poem by Tressa Carliss

My Dear Children

My dear children I love you more than words can express
I loved you from the moment I gave you life.
From the moment when you were just an egg.
I have loved you from the start and it never ends.

Not a day goes by I don't wonder what if
What if you were born, my beautiful twins
What if you kept me up all night craving ice cream
What if you made me get mad at daddy for no reason.

What if I freaked when you got your first cough
What if you were a boy, What if you were a girl
What if i had one of each
There are so many questions left unanswered

One thing I can say for sure
I love you more and more each day
Even if you are in heaven with the angels
Know that mom will always remember the two of you

My dear children even though you were not born
You will always be in my heart.
Your brothers and sisters will know
That with you is where our family starts.
