An Encounter With The Past... Poem by Patricia Gale

An Encounter With The Past...

Rating: 5.0

My heart stopped a beat
A deep breath to bring me back
You right in front of me within a few feet
No warning, not a clue …. The feeling of a heart attack

Thoughts, memories rushing like a raging river
Fighting with my mind to acknowledge you
Pausing, contemplating on the line I would deliver
I bid all common sense adieu

Deep breath…. Working hard are you?
Stunned, shocked …. Good grief was all you good speak
Your heart began to race, your very breath taken as you turned blue
And then it all started over…. With one small kiss upon my cheek

'An encounter with the past' that can't return. Only the then emotions are always the same. For now...this story seems in progress. Very well written.
