Amor

Marriage. Yes,
The subject has come up,
The old girls even dropped subtle hints.
Christ.
Even my friends and family
Have come right out and said it.

There's no need, really, to repeat it.
It went something like
'marry her! '
And that was it.

She changed me.
I can't marry someone like that.
She made me believe in soul mates.
She made me fall in love
Again.
She made me
Want
To quit drinking.
She made me believe
In my self.
She made me fall in love...
She made me fall in love.

How could I marry someone that controlling?

Enjoyed you poem Matt. Love can do that to
you sometimes. Marriage is a very big step
so tread softly. Made me laugh. (Report) Reply

when you are in, love with someone, it turns into all about them. that's what love is and operates. they love you and consider you, and fullfill your needs and wants, and vise versa. it is a sick feeling sometimes isn't it? i couold throw up myself sometimes. it can be so engrossing, you really do loose many parts of youself you never thought you would, like the drinking. I don't know if that was your intention, but your question in the end just made me giggle.
It's such a cute poem in a particular way.
And I just need to say it: AMOR means love in Portuguese.
    Lovely!

Poem of the Day

poet George Gordon Byron

So we'll go no more a-roving
So late into the night,
Though the heart still be as loving,
And the moon still be as bright.

For the sword outwears its sheath,
