Am I Forgiven Poem by Danyel Samuelsen

The day I left my friends
They wouldn't talk to me again
The only words I ever heard
Were the ones that I never learned

They kept me out of their friendly reach
Hoping that I wouldn't see
But in my heart I only knew
That they will always keep me blue

They swore they never understood
The smile that was always good
They made my cry
They broke me down
All I have left is an empty mound

I never thought my actions mattered
Until my heart broke and shattered
Everyday I cried to sleep
Sleep right after I would weep

The sun would set to an empty hue
Breaking down the avenue
Maybe they will find the key
And finally forgive me
