Am I Content? Poem by Kevin Cox

Am I content
To walk with Him
Each and every
Day?
Or are there times
I pull away,
My heart so prone
to stray?
Do I believe that
He can do
exactly what He
Says?
Is my faith real enough
to be held in His arms?
How can I trust?
how can I pray
To One I've never seen?
How can I do whate'er
He bids or go wheree'er
He sends?
My heart is troubled
And full of fear.
But then I hear
Him say,
'I am always with you
each moment of the day'.
So, when fear wells up
so deep in me
that I cannot see
the way.
He bids me 'Come,
And rest a while.'
He hugs my fears away.
So, when I take my eyes
Off Him
And look on things below.
Tis fear that soon will
grip my heart.
No further can I go.
When will I learn
To watch and pray
And stay very close
To Him.
May my life and witness be
all glory unto Him.
