Always Your Loving Friend Poem by Mustafa Marconi

Always Your Loving Friend

I owe my life forever more
To serve my soul as duty calls
To see that all in life I've plundered
Will rise above the test of time
The angels call the trial to order
Iniquities accounted for
No conciliating verdict
Have to find my path to heaven
Once falling down
So close to the final end
Although my soul is probing for order
Always your loving friend

I owe my life forever more
To cleanse what I have broken
Actions never meant to be
Words so foolishly spoken
The Angels call the court to order
Transgressions accounted for
No congratulatory verdict
Just a solemn moment of passionate self reflections
Once spiraling down
So close to a tragic and bitter end
Although my core is searching for order
Always your humbled friend

I owe my soul forever more
To serve my Lord as duty calls
To see that all in life I’ve plundered
Will rise above the test of time
The Angels call their final witness
To rest their case upon its merits
I plead for His Majesty’s most glorious mercy
For not being the man God asked of me
Once falling down
So close to my mortal end
Although my world is in disorder
Always your most loyal, faithful
And subservient friend
