Almost Burnt To Death Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Almost Burnt To Death

Rating: 3.9

It almost burnt us to death
We were unable to take breath
Children cried to escape sun’s fury
The rays were falling steep causing injury

It caused heavy sun strokes
It passed all previous records and broke
They say it was centuries highest
They were afraid as if complete man kind stood to test

There was no sign of immediate respite
The evenings were pleasant despite
The day was making hell and it was let loose
We had no other option but to remain inside and choose

Why Sun god was so furious on mankind
Why his third eye was oozing so much heat and not very kind
Not bird could fly and go out for good
It was indication of displeasure and that was not at all good

It may take many more days to spread the cool
Were we not cutting our own feet and making fool?
Are we totally blaming free not to invite such wrath?
Why nature is pushing us cruelly to near death?

We have cut many trees and uprooted forests
They were natural habitat for animals and considered best
The birds too have lost the race to breed in nests
It is really a forgone conclusions and real test

It may play havoc and many lives will be lost
This is just beginning and it may heavily cost
The burning sun may bring complete life to a standstill
Everything will be on flame and we may have no water to fill

All ponds and reservoirs may dry and pose the challenge
It will then be catastrophe and may not remain in our hands to mange
It will be witnessed as worst possible annihilation just less of carnage
Bodies may not find place to float even in drainage

It is worst scenario that is yet to be witnessed later
If rain God displeases altogether fails us to cater
It is matter of great concern and can’t be left for another date
We are already passing through delicate phase and are very late

Let us please the nature in best possible way
Let us not uproot anything and make it stay
No blocking of natural flow of river
Growing of trees in large scale forever

We have enough time to address and come out with the scheme
You need to synchronize with natural resources and its theme
Not to deplete natural sources in disastrous manner
It may prove as deadly blow as if pushed in belly with spanner
