Alaska Poem by James Hunter

Alaska

Rating: 5.0

The mountains majestic, the rivers so clear
The lakes reflect images much like a mirror
The valleys are deep and half full of snow
The calving of glaciers a sight to unfold
Trails that wind thru the mountains above
The sight of a wolf, mother bear and her cub
Eagles that soar thru the rich deep blue sky
Caribou that trek over the tundra so wide
A pipeline that reaches from north to south
Smoked king salmon that melts in your mouth
Moose with their antlers wide and so grand
Nuggets of gold you can hold in your hand
The rivers are lined with fisherman galore
Landing the big one a feat and a chore
Harbors filled with the best fishing fleet
Sourdough and greenhorns the people you'll meet
An adventure unique, maybe once in your life
The sights you will see cannot be described
Alaska the land un yet to be tamed
Only in part will it ever be changed
