After You Leave Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

After You Leave

After you leave
Will I still breathe
Or will my heart stop beating?
With sadness grieve
The Love that's freed
And mourn it silently departing?

After you leave
Will skies be blue
Or will gray clouds be dark above?
When Earth receives
The pouring rain
As tears fall for a changing Love.

After you leave
Will Time be still
The days and nights shall cease to be?
No hourglass, nor hours to kill
No past, no future, and no memory.

Thanks for the kind comments about my poem. I took your advise and changed the title from 'God's Test' to 'I tested God' Later on, I'll make other changes. I think it might need to be separated into verses. Is that what you meant for arrangement? I'm open for constructive criticism. That's how we grow as poets. I love your poem. It's well written and flows very nice. I am going to read some more.

Very lovely. It happens each time a relationship is splintered. Memories don't leave you, they just buffer the ache. ps...thanks for your kind comments on my stuff...dave.

This poem is def something I would read again and again. I remember when a sudden death occurred feeling as though the whole world should stop, but it didn't, and even though I knew it wouldn't, I still thought it should, because my whole world did. It is very very good and I think most readers will relate well to there own circumstance. Thanks.
