Ach, man en vrouw

Ik klaag de vrouw niet aan
betreur alleen gebrek
gemis aan goed gesprek
consumeer gedrang
en hang naar meer
hun nooit genoeg
en hun veel te vroeg
rozige bloemenbehang
de man is nog steeds
niet te benijden
in zijn zelfkastijden
geeft hij toe aan drang
weet niet wat liefde is
kan ook niet overwegen
wat hij nog nooit gekregen
ach man en vrouw
zo vullen ze gemis
ze blijven beiden trouw
aan het benepen
enorm onbegrepen
ontevreden heden
zeer gewis.

Poem of the Day

poet Edmund Spenser

My love is like to ice, and I to fire:
How comes it then that this her cold so great
Is not dissolved through my so hot desire,
