'About Time' Poem by NiQi Deveaux

'About Time'

I'd say he came from nowhere
But I know he's from my dreams
I drift lazily down waters
Of the crispest, coolest streams

No compass, sail or paddles
There's no need for them I know
No worries, cares or troubles
I'm just going with the flow

When I finally reach the end
Of the path that I am on
Perfect, as it always is
A moth to a flame I'm drawn

It seems I've waited centuries
For a brief moment of his time
Comsumingly compelled by him
I've a strange cycloptic eye

I see nothing there in front of me
But his skin under my hand
Don't expect to keep him in my arms
Or for him to understand

Blindingly I see the cost
To be here in his arms
Consciously I pay it
Sinking deep now in his charms

I fall into the moment
It won't last long here tonight
There's an element I left at the door
So I'll never have to fight

No battle between heart and mind
It's easier that way
This is just the way it has to be
No one promised we would stay

Entangled moving forward
He lives his life, I live mine
But stranger things have happened
In that magical place..... Called time....
