A Wolfs Love Poem by Paul Britton

A Wolfs Love

This is a story of a wolf and her mate,
And how their life's were blessed by fate,
It began on a cool summer night,
The sky was dark without a star in sight,
Her soft fur white as snow,
Her golden eyes aglow,
She gazed across the lake,
As she lay wide awake,
There she saw a male so fine,
She thought he will be mine,
The male looked up with a curious smile,
Padding over he wondered if this was a trial? ,
With a nuzzle to her muzzle, and a lick to her cheek,
She blushed, she giggled, there was even a squeak,
He nipped her ear and whispered quietly,
She looked into his eyes shyly,
Three little words he said to her,
And I know what they were,
Should I reveal thy words to thee? ,
Come closer and I will tell ye.
What he said I know to be true,
Because he told her... I love you.
