A Wind-Swept Heartbeat Lying On Its Side Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

A Wind-Swept Heartbeat Lying On Its Side

Musically fascinating upon a keyboard that sends thrills of excitement into a spiral heading upward, out of sight so soon.

Leaving everyone sitting tightly in echoes of a once upon a time in the past, tripping and falling in echoes of musical coded rhythms.

Wanting more and more, but never being satisfied, looking about, seeing excitement lying on sides of dirt roads, nothing left to see.

Images are left, their images are fading fast, leaving only dust to show anything or anyone was ever there, ripping apart the interior of a wind-swept heartbeat.

Lying on its side pleading for a compromise, but it never happens as the sun continues to go down on the west coast's horizon.

Alone and soon to be forgotten in the excitement, sleeping apart from everyone, leaving everyone sitting tightly in echoes of a once upon a time in the past.
