A Trucker's Muse Poem by illinois haze

A Trucker's Muse

Rating: 5.0

the miles run beneath
the tired truckers eyes
with a soft calm breeze
and cool clear nights
he rememeber when his soul ached
as he had to leave his loved ones
the family he cherished
his two growing sons
change was eminent
like the swift summer season
assured it was permanent
she gave him a reason
the air is sweeter
on this windeing road
he cannot help but smile
as she sleeps against the window
with morning mountains
with natures deep breath
these perfect moments
are here till death
the moonlight's prime
is seen so far
from the open door
as she lies in his arms
he has many roads left to travel
in his worn poet shoes
but he would not think of doing it alone
not without his perfect muse
