A Red Dirt Boy Poem by Marilyn Lott

A Red Dirt Boy

Rating: 5.0

He’s a red dirt boy from Oklahoma
But he’s done some travelin’ too
Meeting people, seeing things
Why, some day he may meet you

His folks’ took him to Yellowstone
He saw waterfalls and Buffalo
Boilin’ pots and all those things
He learned how that park would flow

He can even say he’s seen a Blue Fu
Not many kids can say that, you know
At sixteen he got a shiny red car
Well, he did have a few seeds to sow

I’m sure he loves those windmills
So many things in Oklahoma to enjoy
There’s nothing more exciting than
A good lookin’ red dirt boy!
