A Poet's Note Four (Lago Monferrina) Poem by Ahmad Shiddiqi

A Poet's Note Four (Lago Monferrina)

(dedicated to Ms. Rachel Ann Butler, a poet friend at poemhunter)

I knew how one can yearn
so terribly for love
I felt so bad for her
that she burst out crying

she was sitting on cold floor
with a gloomy look on her face
she stared at me carefully
she was trying to figure out

she was alone and confused
she looked as if she were hopeless
Are you feeling fine, dear? , I said
I don't want to give up, she replied
