A poem fragment, call it Pain

I want to sing a sad song
But no one cares to listen
I bite my tongue oh so hard
As the tears in my eyes glisten

Sadness and that hated depression
Weigh so heavily upon my heart
Despair chews upon my soul
And causes all hope to depart

I sit lost, alone in the corner
Loneliness my only constant pal
Nowhere I turn are found friends
I miss my wife, that special gal

This world is dark, full of hatred
Jagged edges to rip my flesh
Rip and tear, pain and more, never ending,
Help me now, I'm caught in the mesh

PAIN! And more PAIN rips through me
Tears my soul, shatters my heart
Racks my brain, PAIN and more
Defines me until life does depart

Poet's Notes about The Poem

Fragment of a poem. Feels unfinished even though it's 5 stanza's. Came to me as I sat here in tears. I didn't need to write it, indeed I did not write it. It wrote itself. Mayhap someday I'll expand upon it. For now I put it down here so that it may not be lost.

I understand so well this poem that my eyes are full of tears. Pain could be best friend. Sometimes I wonder if without her could we keep open the gates of kindness? ... (Report) Reply
