A Place I'Ve Never Been Before Poem by Chase Breeden

A Place I'Ve Never Been Before

Rating: 5.0

A place I've never been before
That's where I'd like to go
Just somewhere I can lay my head
And rest my tired soul
Somewhere to take the fear away
To get rid of the pain
Somewhere to keep me safe and warm
A shelter from the rain
A place where no one knows me
And no one knows my past
Somewhere where I can find myself
And live my life, at last
A place I've never been before
That's where I want to be
To hide away in shadows
So that I can not be seen
To a world of selfish people
Unfaithful, solemn vows
Only interacting
so that we might take our bows
To bring about accomplishments of the successful 'me' and 'mine'
Forgetting heart love and passion
After all, who has the time?
A place somewhere that's far away
My own world of make-believe
My place of peace, contentment
That the world cannot percieve
A place I've never been before
That's where I'd like to go
Just somewhere I can lay my head
And rest my tired soul
Somewhere to take the fear away
To get rid of the pain
Somewhere to keep me safe and warm
A shelter from the rain
A place where no one knows me
And no one knows my past
Somewhere where I can find myself
And live my life, at last

Very good lines with good use of words. The unfortunate thing about life is that it is very hard to escap our past. The past alway find a way of resurfacing.

Sad, moving, and emotionally heart rending. The poem makes the reader want ot cry and surrender in exasperation at the state of things at hand, so I would like to invite you to view 'My Island Far Away' it is brief but will give you relief.: -) 10+++++
