I had a plan
I chose a path
Made a commitment
Settled in
What a shock when
Life's plan was different

I was suddenly lost
Caught off guard
My path was changed
A sudden turn
How would I recover
From what life rearranged

I stumbled a bit
Felt bruised and broken
Searched for guidance
Strength within
To heal my spirit
Find self love and reverence

I learned to trust
Myself and God
Accepting divergence
Hope rising
Realizing this shift
Allowed for true self emergence

I rise untethered
From burdens past
Renewed and relieved
Wiser soul
A brighter path ahead
For in me I believed
